MLO 6 Information Technology Literacy
Technology is changing our world, in fact we can do almost anything with the use of a computer and a well trained technician.
While my study at CSUMB I had the opportunity to enhance my knowledge when it comes to computer usage.
Some of the abilities that I have gained during the last two years are priceless; for example, I learned how to do academic researches in most of my courses and I had to use scholarly articles. Another important aspect is the fact that I took two online courses, SPAN 308, and SPAN 330. Those courses were 100% online based and I had to be able to get the work that they required as well as keeping contact with the teacher by email, and having online discussions with my classmates.
I had the opportunity to learn and to master the creation of power point for all of my classes to support my oral presentations, in fact for capstone I had to create the same power point in two different languages. Another important aspect of completing this MLO successfully was a video that we had to create for SPAN 426, this gave me the chance to learn how to manipulate movie making programs such as “I Movie” and being able to burn it in to a CD for the teacher to keep a copy and to be able to present it to the class.
All of those abilities would have not been the same if it were not for a technology course that I took my first semester at CSUMB. During this course I learned the basics of computer use. I learned how to use Photoshop, and this was a huge technic to have under my belt.
Some of the challenges I had fulfilling this MLO was the fact that I had never taken any technology courses, so at first everything was new to me, but towards the end of the semester I felt confident I would be able to complete my degree having mastered the use of technology for my courses.
