MLO 6: Information Technology Literacy
The student demonstrates an ability to use technology in support of his or her scholarly work, including gathering, organizing and analyzing sources and employing appropriate delivery techniques in both written and oral formats.
My studies at CSUMB have given me the technology knowledge that I need for the future dream career. All of the courses that I took at CSUMB have required me to use technology in order to successfully pass all my classes. Many of my classes required doing research to get a paper done, also work with PowerPoint, and for the most part type up essays and other assignments. We also had to learn how to use the different writing formats there are and know how to apply them to our assignments. For literature courses, and for most of the Spanish courses I took at CSUMB we had to learn how to use MLA format. And with this knowing how to use information and cited in the proper format, to give credit to those from whom were borrowing information. Also while enrolled in SPAN 426 we learned about the different websites there are where we can find articles, books, and other resources which could help us for our research papers. We were also introduced to the a system which allowed students to request books or articles which were not in the school’s library, but were in other schools and which we could borrow. The capstone class WLC 400 also has given us the opportunity to expand a lot more our technology knowledge, we were introduce to internet websites which could keep track of the resources we were finding, and also in learning how to use WORLDCAT and knowing how to narrow down our research so we could find as much information as possible. I also had the opportunity to learning how to make a movie while taking HCOM and SPAN 310. For HCOM we made a movie out of pictures with a voice over, and for SPAN 310 we actually got to film the movie and edit it. As a hole all the courses that I took at CSUMB gave me the technology knowledge that will help me in my dream job.
